How is Nabla different from Epic's native ambient options?

Nabla is part of Epic Toolbox and runs on the same Ambient APIs, while extending beyond ambient documentation with clinical-grade dictation, chart suggestions, and broad support across specialties and languages. And because Nabla works across EHRs, organizations can deliver a consistent clinical AI experience beyond Epic environments.

What’s the difference between AVR and the standard integration?

AVR records natively inside Haiku and sends orders and diagnoses back to Epic. The standard integration works on mobile, desktop, and telehealth. You can run either one or both.

Do clinicians need Haiku?

Only for AVR. With the standard integration, clinicians can use Nabla in Hyperspace or Hyperdrive on desktop, or in the Nabla mobile app launched from Epic.

What does our Epic team need to do?

Request the Nabla apps in Epic Showroom, set up sign-in and note templates, then test with a small pilot group. Nabla guides every step.

How long does rollout take?

Most health systems are live in two to three weeks. Nabla provides a named Customer Success manager and clinician-to-clinician enablement throughout.

What happens to our data?

No audio is stored by default, PHI is never used to train foundation models, and retention policies are fully customizable. With AVR, audio stays in your own Epic environment and is deleted automatically.

Does Nabla work outside Epic?

Yes. Nabla also runs on Oracle Health, athenahealth, NextGen, Greenway, Altera, and more.
